Meet Haileigh Verdeyen

From a young age, my goal was to serve in a helping profession. Through my personal and professional experiences, this goal became a value that I strive to live by. This value and my experiences pushed me along my journey in attaining my master’s degree in clinical-counseling psychology at Illinois State University. I am currently working towards clinical licensure under supervision of April Foiles.

Before completing my master’s program, I served in the public safety field and gained years of experience in the mental health field as a crisis clinician, case manager for youth, community outreach, correctional behavioral health technician, and outpatient therapist intern. I also participated in many research roles surrounding mental health topics, keeping me up-to-date and knowledgeable for adequate client care.

My areas of focus include: trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, stress management, and life adjustments. I am open to working with adolescents and emerging adulthood, adults, couples, and individual counseling. I approach treatment eclectically, pulling from different therapy models to best meet clients where they are at. Commonly, I integrate person-centered, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness approaches. I am also interested in using narrative, existential, and somatic therapy approaches in treatment.

If you’re interested in working with me, please feel free to contact the agency for availability. I look forward to becoming part of your journey in leading a healthier and happier life, however that may look for you!
